CONFERENCE. Where do I begin? It was so good I just want to be like that man on Hot Rod who goes around throwing advertisements and dances around. Except I would throw the conference talks.
Friday night Sister Nail and I went to get all you can eat shrimp with Jim. (I am becoming a "cameroncita" or little shrimp) We invited Jim to watch conference this weekend. He told us that he would come Sunday morning. We thought, hey, that is a start.
Saturday morning camera around and at 11am we were seated anxiously waiting to hear the messages of the leaders. By the time President Uchtdorf spoke I just I just wanted to jump up and run all 24 miles to Jim's house. Everything that was being said was exactly what Jim needed to hear. We texted him right after the first session saying that we thought of him as we were watching. As we were riding to go get Indian food (yessss.) we got a text back.
HE WATCHED CONFERENCE ON HIS TV AT HOME!
Sister Nail and I proceeded to scream and jump up up and down (well, as much as the seat belts would allow) for the next 30 seconds. We called and talked about it with him and he agreed to come to a lesson before the session Sunday morning.
We met Brother Greeley and Brother Wade with Jim at the chapel and had a wonderful discussion about prayer. We had Jim pray to ask if he should be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We ran out of time to talk more, and so we went into the chapel to watch conference.
My jaw dropped and tears rolled down my cheeks as President Eyring began his talk. "My hope for us today is that we may all feel love and light from God. There are many blessings today and many who are listening today who feel a pressing need for that blessing of personal revelation from our Heavenly Father." His whole talk was on personal revelation. God is so aware. Jim left a bit early because he had to visit his brother, but I know that he felt the spirit. There is a light in his eyes that is unmistakable.
Everyone, GO WATCH CONFERENCE. I feel so overloaded with information it is melting out my ears. There is so much to learn, so much to apply, I have no idea where to begin!
Quotes I loved from Conference (well, in my own words..)
"Someone has already paid"-Elder Boyd K. Packer
"How can I break down the roof?" -Chi Hong (Sam) Wong
"About Face!" -Lynn Robbins
"Lowering yourself to the world's standards is apostasy." -Lynn Robbins
"Resenting the law of gravity does not keep a person from falling off a cliff."-D.Todd Christofferson
"God is not a puppet master."-D.Todd Christofferson
"You are pleasing God despite your short comings." -Jorg Klebingat

Also, this weekend Oct. 10-16th is a motion picture called Meet the Mormons. You should go see it. Call my mom she will know where it is being played. It is in Omaha and Sioux Falls Theaters.
