So my mission has been a dream come true. I am finishing my last six weeks where I started, Brownsville. It's seriously the greatest thing ever. Stake conference was yesterday and I was able to see some of the members I met when I was here for the first time. It is the greatest ending to the most amazing part of my life (so far as Razz would say). I am a sentimental person, and this is about as sentimental as it gets. It's gross... in a good way, ya know? Haha.
Last Monday we made the greenies lunch at the Maluenda's. During the whole thing President Maluenda came in and asked if we knew about transfers.. "nope.. the zone leaders won't tell us." He says, "call them up and tell them I told them to tell you." So we call and they say we are BOTH BEING TRANSFERED. President starts to chuckle as he watches the shock on our faces. This whole week was a blur. Transfers were insane. I got to see Sister Tervort (my baby) get her baby (aka she is training). Sister Pickett went to Corpus. Sister Moody and Sister McArthur (who were companions in the CCM that lived on the other side of our room and sang to me while I brushed my teeth) were assigned to my old area in Mission. I was equally excited about that as I was to go back to Brownsville.
Sister Kingsford and I are companions. Yes, another companion. She is numero 11 (if you count the CCM). She is such a wonderful person, but we probs won't be working together much because of all the meetings in McAllen and exchanges with the other sisters we have here (we take care of 12 sisters) One companionship is in Port Isabel. CRAZY. aka I get to go back to my "baby area" most likely ON MY BIRHTDAY. Best present ever.
We had MLC on Wednesday (aka I went to Brownsville for a total of 15 hours and then went back to McAllen). They had us fast and pray before the meeting so that we could really prepare to help the mission. The faith has been struggling recently, and it is up to us as leaders to strengthen the missionaries. The meeting was so amazing. I learned a lot about how we can't just go to meetings and just listen without any intention of changing. If we want answers from God we must commit that we will follow what God asked us to do when he does answer. That's called real intent.
I have also been thinking about how the world works and how I will continue to progress when I am back in it. *yikes. I have never been so horrified with technology until now. It is a serious addiction that so many people have and don't even recognize it. Our electronics are our slaves; not our masters. Make an effort to control your electronic usage, PLEASE. It is sickening looking at all the time being wasted by people.
Anywho, I am such a missionary. Apolosgies in advance because I am going to be so awkward when I come home.
