- So half of Sister Cano's family lives in Reynosa (aka like 20 minutes away) and half live here. And there are a few who aren't members here in McAllen.. so she is going to go teach them!! How cool is that!?!
- After the first conference session we were talking about self control and sister Messer goes, "I used my self control to not eat the kit-kats... but I ate all the reecees..." we all laughed pretty hard.
- My question for conference was, "How can I better complete my purpose as a missionary, and as well as a daughter of God." I got my answer within minutes of the first session. The word, "simplify." pierced deep to my heart as Elder Utchdorf talked about a true disciple conversion. I realized I am always over complicating things. The most important thing is the gospel, all the "fru-fru"(as Jodi would call it) is not necessary, and sometimes takes away from the whole gospel message. Click HERE to watch the talk.
- I also thought about how amazing the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sounded. Can you imagine how much more glorious the angels in heaven will sound at the time of the coming of Christ?
"The day the Savior comes will be astounding. Every day I get up in the morning and think to myself, 'I hope that today's the day.' Enjoying every moment of my mission, whether it be knocking doors, teaching lessons, of just riding my bike. I repent daily and dream of the day the Savior will come. Oh what a magnificent time we live in. We mustn't look at the end of our missions as the deadline, or college as our deadline, or even our lives as the deadline. The real deadline is the day we will all stand before our Lord. What a grand day that will be if we are ready. So we best get ready, because today may be the day. "
I've heard it before, and I am sure you have too, (probs because I talk about it all the time here) but THIS IS NOT THE END. The earth is not your home. We are all just living temporally here in these mortal bodies. I hope you are all in tune with your spirit, and also the Holy Spirit who can communicate with your spirit. Always always always be worthy of the holy ghost. Without it, we are lost.
